3-day tours to her native Zhongshan have also become very popular
since they were introduced!
You will stay at
her villa and enjoy home cooked meals with fruits and vegetables
picked from her garden. You will dine at top restaurants in the
Sam Heung area and sip sundowners at the Zhongshan Golf Club. Mrs
Lee will also show you Southern China's largest antique furniture
market. Time and weather permitting, there may be a BBQ in the
grounds adjoining the villa and karaoke till the early hours.
Day 01 – US West Coast/Hong
Kong. Depart USA, crossing International Date Line, advancing one
calendar day. Air not included in price
Day 02 – Arrive Hong Kong in the
evening. Transfer to hotel. Hotel Kowloon Shangri-La -3 Nights.
Day 03 – Hong Kong: Explore the
Chinese culture with a visit the the Bird Market, Chi Lin Nunnery
and Shum Tseng with a sampling of the famous roast goose in a
renowned restaurant. Dinner at your leisure (Breakfast, Lunch)
Day 04 – Hong Kong: Walking
the back streets in Central covering SoHo, Stanley Street, Luk Yu
Tea House, Shanghai Tang store and tea tasting at a local tea
shop. Have dim sum lunch then visit Aberdeen, Repulse Bay,
Victoria Peak and shopping at Stanley Market. Regional Cuisine

Day 05 – Hong Kong /Macau /
Zhongshan: Visit Macau, the former Portuguese colony located to
the southwest of Hong Kong. It’s numerous historical points of
interest include St Paul’s Ruin, the “antique & furniture street”
and Senado Square. Visits include Wine Museum as well as the A-Ma
Temple. A Macanese lunch will be served at a renowned
Restaurant. Late afternoon depart Macau for China and proceed to
Dr Maria Lee’s villa in Zhongshan (1.5 hour drive) Overnight at
Dr. Maria Lee’s Villa – 3 nights. (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner)
Day 06 - Zhongshan: Your
first lesson begins after breakfast. You will learn the basic
skills required for cooking Chinese food and you will be
introduced to commonly used ingredients. This first introductory
class will last about three hours in which two dished will be
demonstrated. The dishes will be served as lunch. After lunch
visit one of southern China’s largest antique and furniture makets
where exquisite wood-carving and curios are widely found. From
there, we will drive to Shiqi to shop for souviners in the
colorful Sunwen Street. Overnight at Dr Maria Lee’s Villa
(Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner)
Day 07 – Zhongshan: Morning
cooking lesson with lunch at a local restaurant famous for
boneless salt-baked chicken. Then visit a flea market with lovely
ceramic items & curios. Followed by visit of the residence of Dr
Sun Yat Sun, the founder of the Republic of China. Overnight at Dr
Maria Lee’s Villa (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner)
Day 08 – Zhongshan – Hong
Kong: Drive to Panyu and visit Baomo Garden, well known for its
stone carvings and for the “Qing Ming Festival Riverside Scene”
Lunch ina small restaurante run by 6 sister and enjoy a local
specialty like fish dough dumplings and Shawan ginger milk
custard. Try also the hometown favorites such as: “Five Cup Duck”
and “Three Cup Chicken”. The recipes for these dishes will be
discussed at lunch. You will leave after lunch for a ferry to
Hong Kong. (Breakfast, Lunch)
